Tiny Tot’s tiny bits!!

"Have you ordered the baby?"

My Sister in law is expecting now.
She wanted to convey this to Chinnu  and make him understand.
She started with how Chinnu was born.

SIL :  Bujji, you know what….I wanted to bring a baby like you to home so that Pappa, Nanamma, Atta and everybody will have fun with you.
So, I went to Green view Hospital (where Chinnu was born) , and talked to Dr.Achi(he knows all the doctors names there ).

Then she put  you  in my stomach, you slowly grown up and one day you came out of my stomach.
Chinnu : Oh…..so Dr. Achi put me in your stomach?
SIL: Yes.

After a while,
Chinnu: Mamma, in whose Stomach Papa was put?

SIL :  Nanamma wanted to bring your papa home, so she went to the hospital and they put your papa in Nanamma’s stomach.
Chinnu : Then in whose Stomach Nananmma was put?

SIL : You know Nanamma’s mamma, right?

Chinnu : Yes, I saw her photo in Nanamma’s bed room. Her name is Janaki.
SIL: Yes, Nanamma was put in Janaki Tatamma’s stomach.

Chinnu : Oh, then  Nanamma’s Mamma and Nanamma also went to Green view Hospital only ? (He thinks that hospital exists from my grand mom’s time J)
SIL: Smiled….and said “ No, they went to the hospital in Berhampur which is Nanamma’s Mamma’s home.

Chinnu : ok
SIL : ok, now as you are grown up and all alone, I want to bring a brother/sister to our house so that you can play with them.

Chinnu : oh.....that’s very nice. If it is Sister I put the name Nikitha, and if it is brother it is Tanishq.
Will the baby play UNO with me? Will the baby play cricket with me?

SIL : ofcourse , yes.
Chinnu : Ok, I will teach the baby how to play UNO . I will tell the baby to keep the +4 and wild cards, will tell her the secret that +4 should be put when the next person said UNO.

He started imagining how to teach all the games.
After few days, Chinnu and his parents went to a pizza corner, and ordered their choices.
They were sitting and chatting, and Chinnu asked when will we get the pizza and is that will be spicy?

My brother told that he has  given the order and the boy will get it soon and  told them not to put chilly so it will not be spicy.
They were waiting and his mom told his papa that she went to Green view hospital to see the doctor.

Suddenly Chinnu looked at her and asked “ Green view lo baby kosam order ichi vachaava? Baby UNO aaDali, cricket aaDali ani cheppava?”(Have you given the order in Green view for the baby ? Did you tell them that the baby should play UNO and cricket?)

"Things to Do"

The other day my sister in law complained to my brother that there are lot of pending things to be done from his side and he is not even care for it.
My brother felt sorry and he promised that he and chinnu will together complete all the tasks.
Then  both father and child started writing all the things to do in father’s mobile.

They made a list :

  1)      Have to take Nimmi(my SIL)  to  Hospital
   2)      Bring Groceries from MK Ahmed
       3)      Bring vegetables
       4)      Craft paper for chinnu’s project work
…………
The next day morning they started working on all the items in the list.
As a part of it, they took Chinnu’s mom to hospital, consulted the doctor, bought medicines prescribed.

While coming back in car from hospital, Chinnu said “ Papa, Hospital ki velladam ane thing ni list lo delete cheseyi, ledanTe malli malli Hospital ki vellipotam” (Papa, delete the thing “to go to hospital” from list, otherwise we will go to hospital again and again”)
"Shake Well"

Chinnu was having fever and his mother wanted to give him Crocin liquid medicine.
She said she will pour the liquid in his mouth.

Chinnu wanted to take the medicine by himself and not with his mom’s help.

So he asked her to give the bottle to her.
While giving the medicine bottle to him she told him “Shake Well before taking it”.

Chinnu took the bottle from her and started moving his waist in circular fashion before taking the medicine.

Nanamma----Whistle----Bujji gaDu

My brother’s house is quite big and if you call from one room the people in other room cannot hear.
If we have to convey something to others, Chinnu is the messenger, he goes running to each room and gives the message.
As my mother became very old, we were worried that it would be difficult for her to call anybody when there is emergency, especially in nights.
Then we started thinking of the ways how she can reach others at home when she is not in a position to get up and walk.

I got a  wireless remote calling bell for her. The switch would be with her, and the bell would be in my brother’s room.
Whenever she has to call someone urgently, she has to press the switch, and then any of the family members will attend her.

This worked for some time, but the bell  was giving trouble, it was not working properly.
Chinnu tried to repair it with his toy tools, we also tried to get it repaired, but it was of no use.

Then we were thinking of other alternatives.
Meanwhile one day, Chinnu got back the whistle which he thought he lost it.

Suddenly something flashed him.
He went to his Nanamma’s room and gave her the whistle.
He told “ Nanamma, Calling bell work cheyaTam ledu kada…so nuvvu ee whistle nee pakkana peTTuko. Neeku urgent ayinappuDu ee whistle oodu, Whistle vinapaDagaane nenu vachestaanu, appuDu neeku bhayam unDadu.”(Nanamma, Calling bell is not working,no? so you keep this whistle next to you. Whenever there is emergency, blow the whistle, as soon as I hear it I will come, then you need not fear).

My mother was very happy about how her grandson is taking of her and also was proud of his idea.
The next day morning, Chinnu was in his room playing with the toys. He heard the whistle sound.
He came running to Nananmma’s room , saw Nanamma  lying on the bed … he asked what she wants.
She asked him to switch on the TV, as  its time for her favorite serial.
He switched on the TV, gave the remote to her and went for playing again.

After some time, he again heard the whistle sound.
He stopped playing , came running to his grand mom’s room and asked what she wants.
She asked him to switch on the Fan.

On hearing this…..he was a little frustrated, and said “ Nanamma….whistle  night time lo neeku edaina urgent ayinappuDu oodali, ila  morning time Fan veyaDaaniki, TV on cheyaDaaniki oodakuDadu.”(whishtle is to use in the night times when there is urgency, not for switching fan, TV in the morning time").

French….Pappu Annam ( French….daal rice).

Time keeps running and infact it flies…. I am talking about how early my little darling had grown up J
Chinnu is (my little nephew) 6 years old now.

Finally he joined a school  3 years back where he got the “application as well as admission”(ChinnugaDu…Application form J) and now in 1st standard.
He is a very busy guy now…whenever I call him on phone, he says “Atta….nenu koncham busy gaa unnanu, nuvvu weekend vaste manam aaram se maaTlaDukundam(Atta, I am busy now, if you come home in the weekend we can have  talk lesiurely”.

As every kid, he is also very enthusiastic about learning new things, and want everybody to think that he is best at what he learnt!!
He has his own little dreams…… he has his heros  identified…..his dad, Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar J

And he imagines himself that he is as good as his heroes.
Whenever I visit their house and have my lunch/dinner, he prefers to sit with  and  chit chat while taking food.

Just before our lunch/dinner we both might have played something or he might have shared with me what are all things happened between my last visit and now….how well he played the other day  how he colored the pictures  etc.
When it comes to eating food,  as every child,he does not like some dishes, and says no to them.

Then I tell him…that he should eat that particular dish and why he should do it.
Whenever he plays cricket and he bats ,wherever the ball goes, it is a sixer for him, and he feels very proud and say “ Atta, Dhoni kuDa  elaane six  koTTaDu(Atta, Dhoni also striked 6 like this only) “

Like that one day we played cricket and as usual he was very proud that he did more runs than me.
Then we sat for lunch, and while having food he did not like brinjal curry and said no to it.

I told him …..Chinnu, Dhoni  vankaya kura tinTaaDu , anduke anta baaga sixer lu koDataaDu, nuvvu kuDa dhoni la bat cheyaali anTe, vankaya kura tinaali(Dhoni is able to strike sixer because he eats brinjal curry, if you also want to bat like Dhoni, you also have to eat Brinjal Curry)”.
He reluctantly  ate that dish though he does not like it, as he does not want to miss the chance to play like Dhoni.

On other day, we were playing caroms and his care taker came with milk and asked him to drink, he again said NO. By that time he was not able to strike the coins with force. I told him that if he drinks milk he will have strength to strike the coins. Immediately he drank the milk.
He thinks he is very taller (actually he is taller to his age,, gone on both his parents), and always compares himself with his Dad, Mom and me. He says to me “when I come to 2nd Standard, I will be more taller than you. Whenver I visit him, he never forgets to measure how tall he is compared to me J

Another day, we had this usual talk and compared our heights and he asked me to wait until he joins 2nd standard. Then we were having food, and he said no to snake gourd curry. I told him,” snake gourd is a very tall vegetable, if you eat it then you will become taller even before you join 2nd Standard”. Then he ate it.
Like this, I always make him to eat by telling some story related to what he wants to excel.

Swaroop scolds me for this…that I am making fool of little kid J
And then happened the incident- French and Pappu Annam….

The other day, when we were starting the lunch, his mother told his grand mom (My mom is his teacher at home) that they started teaching him French in the school, and since his grand mom is new to French, she suggested his grand mom to write all the words he learnt in school in a book, so that he can read those words regularly.
He was also very excited that he is finally  learning something which his grand mom does not know, and now he can teach her. He uttered 1 or 2 French words that he learnt and started feeling proud as if he already knew the whole language.

I asked him that he should teach French to everybody at home as no one knows it.
We were having lunch, and as usual he said “No” to the dish, this time it is Pappu Annam.
And as usual I started my story to make him to eat it.

Being from “IT” family, he knows what Google is from his 4 years old age.
I started saying…. “Chinnu, google lo  em raasaaro telusa….(Chinnu, you know what is written in google).” and I turned to my mom and continued “ Amma, nuvvu kuDa vinu, google lo French gurunchi em raasaaru anTe……(Amma, you also listen, what they have written in google about French is…)” and I waited for few seconds to complete my sentence as I was eating…… before I continued …..immediately chinnu said “ Pappu Annam tinTe French baaga Vastundi ani raasara  Atta google lo?( Did they write in google that if we eat Dal rice we can learn French, Aunt?”  and he took the small bowl in which the dal is kept and he started eating J

I was very surprised and started laughing that how he correctly he could expect that I will relate eating this dal rice to learning French!! He remembered the incidents happened earlier and correlated to what I am going to say.
Well, now I joined French classes at office…..have to wait and see how much I excel in French as I regularly eat Daal Rice J  who knows, Chinnu may come and ask me how much French I learnt as I don’t say no to the dish J
